The City of Grand Junction has a new Deputy City Manager in veteran Laurie Kadrich.
Michigan–born Kadrich was a police officer in Gillette, Wyoming for 14 years before become City Administrator. She also was City Administrator in Cody, Wyoming for seven years.
She says she's aware of the controversies that dominated much of Grand Junction's administration last year, and creating trust with the citizens is number one.
"Issues in communities just create so much conflict that it's difficult to have an ongoing trust relationship with the public, she says. She adds, "that's David's number one goal and I would share that as well."
Kadrich was a finalist for the city manager position in Grand Junction... which eventually went to acting city manager Dave Varley. She says she had already developed a rapport with Varley from previous meetings.
