Three people are injured after a routine traffic stop turns into a two vehicle crash in Grand Junction.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department the collision happened just before 2:00 Saturday afternoon. Police Spokesperson Linda Bowman says a girl in her teens was driving north on 10th Street when an officer attempted to pull her over.
The girl allegedly drove through a stop sign, hitting a jeep that was traveling east on Grand Avenue. The Jeep with only the driver inside rolled on its side. Police say the damage to both vehicles suggests the driver of the car was exceeding the speed limit.
The driver and a passenger in the car as well as the driver of the Jeep were transported to the hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. Pending charges against the girl include felony eluding and failure to yield to a stop sign.
