Local motels see thousands of guests come and go, but what some visitors leave behind can be dangerous to your health.
Drug Enforcement Agency officials say meth use and distribution is commonly seen in Mesa County motels. The residue that is left behind can linger in walls, comforters, and carpet for months or even years.
Resident Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Agency, Tom Gorman says, "When producing meth, it produces fumes, toxic carcinogens, and hazardous material is left behind."
Many local motels are now working closely with law enforcement to step up their safety efforts and put an end to meth use here in Mesa County.
