She's been with the Mesa County Public Library District for 36 years and for 14 of them was its director; but now Terry Pickens is moving on.
Pickens submitted her letter of resignation to the Board of Trustees on Monday.
President of the board Bob Delavan said the letter didn't give a specific reason as to why the library veteran was resigning but that she will be missed.
Pickens accomplished many things with the library over the years.
She worked through two bond issues and was instrumental in moving the Palisade branch into a new location.
Delavan says it could be a while before the board finds someone qualified enough to fill her shoes.
