A registered sexually violent predator is arrested just one day after Grand Junction residents learned he was living in their midst.
34–year–old Tommy Lance Wilkerson was arrested Friday morning for violating his parole. According to authorities Wilkerson allegedly came into contact with a minor.
Officials say they picked him up on a technical violation but that he did not commit a new crime. Wilkerson is categorized as a sexually violent predator because he's been convicted of sexually assaulting three different teenage girls. On Thursday the Grand Junction Police Department held its first–ever community notification meeting to let residents know Wilkerson was living in their neighborhood. Wilkerson had been living at the Grand Junction Rescue Mission on South Avenue.
