Powderhorn Ski Resort is officially over the hill.
This weekend, the ski resort celebrates it's 40th Anniversary. The resort opened back in 1966, around the time the ski industry in Colorado started to take off. Today, the resort boasts 42 runs., three lifts, and more than 1600 feet of vertical skiing ability. But the biggest change over the years is how people trek down the mountain. Powderhorn officials say over the last few years, there has been a big shift from skiers to snowboarders.
Sunday, the festivities continue with live music, a treasure hunt, and of course- birthday cake.
