The Grand Junction Commission on Arts and Culture is offering financial assistance for cultural events and projects in an effort to encourage new cultural activities of all kinds.
Oktoberfest, and the annual Cinco De Mayo celebration are good examples of what the the commission hopes to accomplish by providing funding. The goal is to put Grand Junction on the map and showcase the valley's cultural amenities. Nonprofits who have a project or event that has a broad community benefit are encouraged to apply for a grant.
Applications for funding are available by calling 254–3865 or by e–mailing allisons@gjcity.org. The deadline is noon February 15.
