It was a battle of the chefs Tuesday at Hotchkiss's k-8 school as sixth and seventh grade culinary students raced against the clock to cook up a tasty treat.
Former Bronco Karl Mecklenburg along with 11 New's own Natalie Pallone judged the first–ever Bulldog Iron Chef Competition.
Six teams competed and each had just 20 minutes to wow the judges. Crepes were on the menu and each team had to incorporate a secret ingredient. Teachers at the school say while they hope students had fun, they also hope they learned creativity and that they can do anything they put their minds to.
Teachers hope to hold the Iron Chef Competition twice a year.
