Police To Hold Meeting On Sexually Violent Predator

A sexually violent predator moves from Clifton to Grand Junction prompting the Mesa County's Sheriff's Office to cancel its community notification meeting, and the Grand Junction Police to schedule one.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, 53–year–old Ernest Welton who was living in a mobile home in a driveway on 32 1/2 Road in Clifton moved.

11 News has learned that Welton is now living at the Rescue Mission on South Avenue in Grand Junction.

The Grand Junction Police Department will hold a community notification meeting on February first in the Grand Junction City Hall Auditorium from 6:00-9:00p.m. This is the second meeting the police department has ever held.

Welton has been convicted twice of sex crimes, once in 1988 and again in 1999.
