A man facing first degree murder charges in the stabbing death of his ex–wife changes his plea in court Wednesday.
36–year–old Cristobal Felix–Vega pleaded guilty to second degree murder. In doing so he agreed to a 40 year sentence in the Colorado Department of Corrections.
Authorities say Felix–Vega stabbed his ex–wife Hortencia Mendoza once in the chest at Candlewood Trailer Park last April. She died on the way to the hospital. Felix–Vega was also transported to the hospital with what authorities believe was a self inflicted knife wound to his leg.
An arrest affidavit says the stabbing happened after the couple had an argument.
