Voters To Decide On TABOR Question

Video will be available shortly.

In an April election, voters will decide whether to allow the city to retain revenue under TABOR, to help pay off the Riverside Parkway Project.

On Wednesday, Grand Junction City Council members ironed out the wording of the question, which clarifies that funds retained will be used strictly towards the Riverside Parkway Project.

Council members say approval will help speed up the $100M project.

"There's so much going on in the community right now and the parkway is a big part of that. I think if we can eliminate the debt early for future councils, they'll be freed up to build projects they need to in the future," Grand Junction Mayor Jim Doody said.

The initiative has been endorsed by the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce and the election will be held April 3.
