Mesa State College Asks State For $91.1 Million

Mesa State College is one step closer to securing state funding for a series of capital projects.

Thursday morning President Tim Foster went before the State Capital Development Committee which agreed to consider the college's funding requests.

Last year the committee provided funding for the college's Business and Information Technology Center, and this year President Foster is hoping they'll provide $7.8 Million more for the project. He also asked for $19.1 Million for the Saunders Fieldhouse project which would add 14 classrooms for the school's health-care program.

The next stop for the college is the Joint Budget Committee.
