A man known in his native country for deregulating the labor markets and the transportation industry is in town to speak at a luncheon hosted by the Mesa County Republicans.
Maurice P. McTigue served on the New Zealand Parliament from 1984 to 1994. During his tenure, he was responsible for deregulating the labor markets, transportation industry, and restructuring the fishing industry.
McTigue now resides in the United States and serves as the Director of the Government Accountability Project at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia.
