Golf Courses Suffer From Winter Weather

Video will be available shortly.

The Grand Valley is known to many for its numerous golf courses and its near year round golfing season, but this year is a little different.

Head golf Pro for the city of Grand Junction, Rob Stong, said because of the frequent winter storms this season, Tiara Rado Golf Course was shut down the whole month of December. The Lincoln Park Golf course managed to open for only three days to golfers.

Stong said the weather has impacted their revenue. He estimates that they lost about $26,000 during December.

The restaurant and pro shop are still open for business at Tiara Rado golf course, and Stong hopes the course will be reopen in mid- February depending on if mother nature brings some warmer weather.
