With such extreme weather this past month, the Grand Junction Fire Department has been responding to more weather related injuries.
With an increase of snow, there is also an increase of ice on the ground which leads to slips, falls, and broken bones. Some of the things we do to stay warm can be dangerous too.
Mark Peterson, Grand Junction Fire Department Engineer says, "We always see an increase in fire related incidents during this time of year cause people are using heat lamps, heat tape, space heaters and making fires."
The Grand Junction Fire Department says they respond to weather related incidents several times a week here in the Grand Valley.
