Recovering From War

Video will be available shortly.

A Grand Junction man who served more than 15 years in the Army, recently had his foot amputated after a 2003 accident in Iraq left him with extensive injuries.

Retired Staff Sergeant, Ray Robinson, joined the military when he was just 18 years old. His military career took him to Iraq, where his troop helped with the invasion of the country in 2003. It was during that time that his accident happened. Robinson was driving a Humvee when it ran over a mine.

Robinson suffered extensive injuries to both of his legs and feet, leading to his recent amputation of his left foot. Despite his injuries, Robinson says his spirits are high and he looks forward to returning back to school to become a history teacher.
