New Program Gives Parents & Teens A Break

Video will be available shortly.

Parents and teens don't always see eye to eye and that can make for some tense times at home. But now there's a new program in town that can help.

The Tree House Youth Shelter in Grand Junction can serve as a safe place for teens to come and take a break from mom and dad or their guardians.

The shelter offers it's 48–hour Respite Program to families who are struggling. Teens can stay at the shelter for 48 hours with parental consent. They are fed, housed and visited with while they "catch their breath".

To take advantage of the 48–hour Respite Program contact the Tree House Youth Shelter or the Department of Human Services.
