It was a heated competition as local restaurants and caterers squared off to win Best in Show, Best Theme and Best in Taste at the 2007 Home Loan Taste of the Grand Valley.
More than a thousand people voted and the numbers have been tallied. Omar's Catering took home the awards for best in show and best theme this year. For the third year in a row Rib City Grill walked away with Best in Taste.
Proceeds from the annual food tasting event go to benefit the United Way of Mesa County which provides funding for various health and human service programs.
The United Way's Capitol Campaign is coming to a close. This year's goal was $1.2 Million. The organization hopes to have raised about $30,000 with Monday's Taste of the Grand Valley.
