A man who allegedly pointed a gun at a passing vehicle shuts down a Clifton neighborhood for nearly two hours.
The Mesa County Sheriff's Office responded to the 500 block of Pierce Ave. around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, following the report. The police presence prompted 46-year-old Joe Gomez to lock himself in his home, ignoring requests to come out. Gomez did give up more than an hour later, once police cut the power to his home. The 46-year-old was found to be under the influence of alcohol and the only weapon found in the home was a BB gun.
Gomez was taken to Colorado West due to his intoxication and no charges have been filed against him as of yet.
