Suspected Armed Robbers Arrested

Video will be available shortly.

After allegedly robbing a Clifton video store and attempting to flee the country, two suspects are under arrest. Mesa County and La Plata County officials worked for four days following leads and alerting authorities from all over Colorado that two alleged armed robbers were on the loose.

The night of January 19th was business as usual for Gil Hernandez, Owner of Gil's Video, that is until two men came into his store and held him at gun point. After stealing about one hundred and thirty dollars from the register, they fled, but the story doesn't end here.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Department the two suspects were on the run, and through an anonymous tip authorities discovered that the men were trying to flee to Mexico. They hopped on a Greyhound bus here in Grand Junction and headed to Durango.

Once officials got the news, they quickly alerted law enforcement in the area and that's where Juan Gutierrez–Parga and Adelfo Mariscal–Proano's run ended, right at the Durango Greyhound stop.

The two suspects are currently in the La Plata Detention Center where they are waiting to be transported to Mesa County. Both men will face a charge of aggravated robbery which is a class three felony.
