Brown Named Public Trustee

Starting Thursday morning, there will be a new face in the Mesa County Public Trustee's office.

Late Wednesday afternoon, Governor Bill Ritter's office contacted Paul Brown, former candidate for Mesa County assessor, with the good news. From getting sworn in to getting assimilated with the office, Brown says there's a lot to do, but will seize the opportunity.

"I wanted to run for county assessor last year because I did want to serve Mesa County. I did want to do the job, I felt I was qualified to do it. That didn't work out, this has worked out and I'm excited about doing it," Brown said.

An item on the top of Brown's list will be to deal with rising interest rates and trying to prevent foreclosures in the county.
