An early morning fire causes an estimated $100,000 worth of damage. When the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to the fire at 2842 Scott Court, they found heavy smoke and fire in the carport as well as in the attic area and one room of the home.
Crews were able to knock the fire down fairly quickly. Four adults and a dog were home at the time of the fire. According to authorities, a smoke detector and unusual sounds alerted the residents to the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and no on was injured.
