There are three seats up for grabs in this year's election for Grand Junction City Council. 11 News Colorado is profiling the five candidates running for office. The first candidate is Joseph Gardner.
Joseph Gardner has lived in the Grand Valley with his family for the past thirty years. Before Gardner retired, he managed several businesses in the restaurant and hotel industry.
One of the things Gardner wants to accomplish is to make sure the City's watershed is protected from all the oil and gas drilling activity on the Grand Mesa.
Gardner would also like to see more community involvement in city government. But for right now, Gardner is keeping himself busy with his love for writing. He is working on a camping cook book and writing some memoirs. Hopefully for Gardner, that memoir will include that he was a member on the Grand Junction City Council - a community he would love to serve and protect.
Grand Junction residents will be able to vote for the City Council candidates on April 3rd. Tuesday's candidate profile will feature city council hopeful, Linda Romer- Todd.
