Grand Valley Power Student of the Week

This week's Grand Valley Power Student of the Week planned on becoming a doctor, but one class changed it all.

Central High School Senior, Stephanie South starting writing for the school paper and she was hooked. Now she is working towards a career in journalism. South is the editor of the school's paper and an anchor for the school's radio program. Also added to her busy schedule are classes at Mesa State, volunteering and a part time job. Still, she manages to keep up her grades.

South says, "I have wanted to be valedictorian since like first grade, some may think it's lame but I'm really excited. My parents have always pushed for good academics."

South has been accepted to the University of Northern Colorado's honor program and she plans to major in journalism and mass communications with a minor in political science.
