Sales Tax Revenue Way Up

Video will be available shortly.

The Board of County Commissioners is celebrating a better than expected month of January in the retail sector for Mesa County.

Commissioner Craig Meis tells 11 News that sales tax revenue is up 28.6 percent for January, which is more than the county anticipated. Also, figures just released show overall sales tax revenue is up 13 percent for all of 2006. Commissioners credit a better than expected holiday shopping season at area retailers for the jump in sales tax revenue.
