High School students from across the Western Slope squared off in a heated culinary competition Tuesday at Western Colorado Community College.
The ProStart Culinary Competition provides an opportunity for culinary students to showcase their skills in the kitchen as they prepare a full three course meal. The teams of four were judged on professional appearance, organizational skills, production methods, flavor, presentation and team work.
Organizers say it's amazing to see what the students create and know that one day it may be served in one of the Grand Valley's restaurants.
Students from Durango High School won the competition for the second year in a row.
