Man's Foot Amputated AfterTrain Accident

Video will be available shortly.

A man was rushed to the hospital after a train ran over his foot. The man's foot could not be saved and according to authorities it was just a freak accident.

The accident happened just behind the Mesa County Justice Center Thursday morning. Officials say Clyde Ruble was trying to cross the tracks in front of a train that was just sitting there. However, when the 57–year–old was crossing the train suddenly started moving and his foot was caught underneath it.

The Grand Junction Fire Department responded, bandaged ruble's bleeding leg and rushed him to the hospital. According to officials with St. Mary's he is in serious condition and was set to undergo surgery Thursday afternoon.

Technically at the time of the accident Ruble was trespassing, however considering the circumstances it's likely no charges will be filed.
