Six new buses will be added to the Grand Valley Transit fleet.
The Mesa County Commissioners approved some grants Monday that will allow GVT to purchase new buses. Although the buses will replace older, worn out ones, they will also be larger in size. This will help compensate for the increase in ridership. GVT has seen about a 15 to 20 percent increase in the number of riders on an annual basis.
The new buses will hit the streets in late summer.
