A Grand Junction man has been arrested after police say he caused a crash that injured four people then fled the scene.
That crash happened just before 5:15 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of 14th and Main Streets.
The Grand Junction Police Department says a white Buick going north on 14th Street drove through a stop sign, just as silver Honda on Main was going through the intersection. Officials say as a result, the Honda broadsided the Buick, causing severe damage to it.
Police say at that point the driver of the Buick, 51-year-old Michael Cisneros, got out of the car and fled the scene on foot. Two passengers in the Buick were extricated by rescue crews, then rushed to the hospital. Officials say their injuries were not serious.
Two women in the Honda were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Officers found Cisneros shortly after the crash. He was arrested on charges of hit-and-run with injuries, driving on a revoked license, DUI, no insurance and disregarding a stop sign.
The names of the other people involved in the crash have not been released.
