A snowy and chilly winter delayed Highline Lake State Park from opening by one week, but despite ice still on the water it's now open to boating.
Boats, jet skis and wake boards are all welcome at the State Park.
But boating season isn't the only thing underway, the lake is also open for fishing.
Tuesday afternoon 5,000 Rainbow Trout were delivered from the Hotchkiss National Hatchery. That's about 2,000 pounds of fish and Park Rangers say if you hook 'em you can take them home and cook 'em.
The campground at Highline Lake State Park is also open for business.
