Two Soldiers From Colorado Die in Iraq

Pueblo, Colo. (AP) The pentagon confirms that another Coloradan, 27-year-old Sergeant Andrew Perkins of Northglenn, has been killed in Iraq.

Perkins was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division based in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

He died on Monday.

Perkins was an anti-armor specialist and had been in the Army since April 2004.

Thursday, defense department officials confirmed the death of a soldier from Pueblo.

Twenty-two-year-old specialist Blake Harris died Monday when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle in Baqubah.

Harris' mother, Deborah, says her son was proud to be in the Army, and that he told her he needed to be in Iraq with his buddies.

It was his second tour of duty there.

Harris was a 2002 graduate of South High school in Pueblo, and was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade of the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas.
