Counties Ordered To Fix Voting Problems

Colorado's chief elections official is making stops at all four counties on his Elections Watch List, and says Montrose County should be commended for the active role they've taken in solving some of its election problems.

Secretary of State Mike Coffman's new program will require counties to correct election problems or face court ordered state supervision. Coffman says he hopes it never comes to that but that we must work to restore confidence in our voters.

Since then the county has created a task force to take an in–depth look at the problem. Coffman says he's proud of the county for take a proactive approach to solving its problems and fells confident they'll be able to find a solution.
