Hesperus, Colo. (AP) Three teenagers are dead and another juvenile is reportedly hospitalized with serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash south of Hesperus.
It happened about 11:45 Saturday night, when a pickup struck a sport-utility vehicle parked in a private driveway near U.S highway 140.
The Colorado State Patrol says 18-year-old Larry Michael Romero and the three juveniles were in an Isuzu Trooper when a Ford F-350 when off the right side of the highway, into a ditch and up a hill before hitting the Trooper from behind.
All four occupants were thrown from the Isuzu, and investigators say three died on impact.
No other condition information is being released on the injured eleven-year-old boy.
Thirty-three-year-old Matthew C. Goodson of Hesperus suffered unknown injuries.
Two other people were treated and released.
The names of the juveniles have not been released.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but the patrol says alcohol and drugs are not considered factors.
