A Colorado Congressman is joining a bipartisan effort in Washington to boost the agriculture industry in rural America.
The Equitable Agriculture Today for a Healthy America Act would allow specialty crop ranchers more access to grants and conservation programs.
Specialty crops include fruits, vegetables and tree nuts.
Congressman John Salazar says the act will also boost several areas of agriculture including nutrition, research and renewable energy development.
The measure has been referred to several committees, including the House Committee on Agriculture of which Salazar is a member of.
