Washington (AP) The Maytag repairman may have to get to work.
The company has announced the voluntary recall of 250,000 front-loading washing machines because they can catch fire when water leaks into an electrical connection, igniting a circuit board.
Samsung has also recalled 20,000 machines.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the machines were made in South Korea and sold nationwide from April of 2005 through August of 2006.
Consumers are advised to stop using the machines immediately unless told otherwise.
