Major Improvements Possible For National Parks

With the Bush Administration backing a $3B National Park Service improvement initiative, the public is getting their say on what they'd like to see.

Beginning in 2008 and spread out over a period of ten years, the allotted $3B would be set aside for projects at national parks around the nation and with several within two hours of Grand Junction rangers say the ideas have been plentiful.

"People had ideas on everything from trail improvement projects to massive education programs that bring children out of the inner city and into the national park's classroom," Ranger Connie Rudd said.

You have until April 2 to offer up your thoughts on how the money should be spent.
