A man who killed a woman while high on meth is sentenced to more than 50 years behind bars.
During the sentencing an e–mail from the victim's 16–year–old daughter was read calling Troy Cooksey a low life druggie. Cooksey was sentenced to 54 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections as part of a plea agreement.
Last May, Cooksey ran a stop sign in a stolen truck at the intersection of 7th Street and White Avenue. He crashed into a car, killing Diana Moreno and inuring her sister Pamela Ramirez. Cooskey had meth in his system at the time.
Moreno's two sisters were in court to hear the sentencing. She leaves behind three kids.
