Dog Officer Tried To Save Dies


The dog a police officer tried to rescue has died.

Early this Thursday morning an officer with the Grand Junction Police Officer was driving near 25 and G Road when he noticed a bleeding dog off to the side of the road. The officer wrapped the dog up in a blanket and took it to the emergency veterinary clinic.

According to officials at the vet's office said the dog had been hit by a car and had extensive injuries. The dog was put down as a result.
