Eye Sight Myths Or Facts?

Remember when you were a kid and your parents told you not to sit too close to the TV and to eat your carrots to help you see. Perhaps you are passing this advice on to your children.

11 News talked with an optometrist and found out that those things may not hurt or help your vision after all.

Optometrist Nathan Noga says, "Mom says don’t read in the dark, it's gonna hurt your eyes, that’s not true . It can make your eyes tired but it's not gonna hurt them."

Noga say while these are common thoughts the only things that really harm your eyes are the sun and smoking. While many people think carrots help your eyes, it's really dark green vegetables that are the best for your sight.
