Some tense moments for patrons on Main Street Thursday night after a person eating at a downtown restaurant reports seeing a man pointing a rifle at people on the street.
Just after 7:30 p.m. 911 dispatch received a call from a person eating at Pablo's Pizza that a man in a 2nd story window in a building on 3rd and Main Streets was pointing a rifle at people walking on Main Street.
The Grand Junction Police Department locked down businesses between 3rd and 4th streets while they attempted to contact the subject.
Authorities were able to speak with the person and one rifle was retrieved. The person was not arrested at the scene, but the investigation is ongoing.
