A suspect in a weekend stabbing in Fruitvale is revealed, but is still at large.
The victim, 24-year-old Junior Robles, is still at St. Mary's Hospital with a stab wound to the upper left side of his chest and after interviewing witnesses and party goers the Mesa County Sheriff's Office believes they know who is responsible.
38-year-old Victor Espino is the man believed to have stabbed Robles, this according to the 8-12 witnesses at the party at 2921 Dawn Dr. in Fruitvale.
They say a fight broke out between the two men and identified the suspect through either description or referring to him by nickname.
Espino does live in the immediate vicinity to the party address and while still just a suspect the sheriff's office does have just cause to take him into custody.
"He actually does have an active warrant out for his arrest in California. Apparently it's for a felony, we don't know the details, but based on that warrant, we can arrest him. That's our intention—to pick him up on the warrant and then question him about our case," Lt. Jim Fogg said.
Espino is described as six feet, 240 lbs. and anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff's office at 244–3500.
