GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)- A milestone in the life of a Grand Junction resident was more than enough reason for Senator Penry to fly the state flag over the capital in her honor.
Hester Brown celebrated her 100th birthday today at the Grand Villa Assisted Care.
Her famly was there to see her receive the flag and a letter of congratulations from the Colorado Senate.
Brown says she thinks the flag was a wonderful gift, she is happy to have it for her own and that she couldn't have asked for a better 100 years.
"I've had an awful good life and thank God from the bottom of my heart.."
Brown also received birthday wishes from Nancy Reagan and President George Bush.
