MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) - In a sting operation over the weekend, officials did nearly 190 compliance checks for the sale of alcohol to minors.

Officials with the Colorado State Liquor Enforcement Agency, Grand Junction Police Department and Mesa County Sheriff's Department conducted the tests throughout the county in liquor stores, restaurants and wineries. The sting used minors who worked with officers to try to buy alcohol.

Officials say of the 186 establishments tested, 24 failed and sold alcohol to the minor. The tests have been done twice before this year in Mesa County and were done three times in 2008.

According to sting officials, during the Nov. 2008 test, 113 establishments were checked and 14 failed. In April 2009, they say, a similar sting was done twice that month with eight failures the first time and zero failures the second time, resulting in or 100% compliance.

-Center Town Liquors, Fruita
-In the Middle Liquors, Fruita
-Kuniko's Teriyaki Grill, Grand Junction
-Eagles Fraternal Order, Grand Junction
-Crown Liquors, Grand Junction
-Genghis Grill, Grand Junction
-Tequila's Mexican Restaurant, Grand Junction
-Garfield's Off Broadway, Grand Junction
-Albertson's, Grand Junction
-Zen Garden, Grand Junction
