GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Internet searches and phone records were the focus of day five of the Miriam Helmick murder trial.
The jury also heard from a cleaning company called in to clean up Alan’s blood off the floor, more than a week after he was found shot.
Miriam Helmick is accused of murdering husband Alan in June of 2008.
In court Wednesday morning, Mesa County Sheriff's Investigator Mike Piechota was questioned about research done on the Helmick's computer.
He showed jurors how many times specific searches were done regarding Alan’s prescription drugs, and ways of possible deaths, side–effects, and overdoses.
But the defense argued there was no way to prove it was Miriam who did those searches each time.
Later, Mesa County Sheriff's Investigator Lissah Norcross took the stand, and voicemails Miriam left for Alan on the day of his murder were played.
Norcross also gave detailed information about phone records for Alan and Miriam’s cell phones, and spent the bulk of the day explaining how the cell phone records matched up with the events of the days in question.
