Denver (AP) If you can serve in the military and pay taxes, should you be allowed to serve in the legislature?

State representative Michael Garcia thinks so and has introduced a resolution that would ask voters to lower the age to be a state lawmaker from 25 to 21.

A house committee is scheduled to take up the matter Monday.

Garcia, a Democrat, is getting support for the resolution.

House Minority Leader Mike May, a Republican from Parker, says he has signed on as a co-sponsor of the proposal.
