Fallen Soldier Makes Final Trip Home

Video will be available shortly.

A fallen Grand Junction soldier makes a final trip home Thursday morning.

A flag draped casket bearing Cpl. Wade Oglesby's body arrived at Walker Field Airport just before 9:30 a.m. The Grand Junction Police Department and the local Patriot Guard then escorted the fallen soldier's remains to Martin Mortuary.

A visitation for Oglesby will be held at the Mortuary Friday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Oglesby will be laid to rest at Memorial Gardens and Cemetery.

Cpl. Wade Oglesby was killed last Wednesday when the Humvee he was driving hit an improvised explosive device north of Baghdad. He was 27–years–old.

All flags in the City of Grand Junction will be flown at half staff Friday and Saturday in honor of Cpl. Oglesby.
