The Fruita Fat Tire Festival draws people from all over the world. The festival started twelve years ago with four hundred riders and this year there are more than a thousand people who are taking to the World famous Fruita trails. Before the trails there's some preparing to do.

Over the Edge Sports puts this event on, and their store was jammed packed throughout the weekend. Those customers bought quite a few things to get ready for the rides.

Rider, Shannon Wright says, "We got some new brakes, made sure we had camel-backs, a tracking system, all the right food, shoes and sunscreen."

Yet, some people were just looking for the essentials.

Rider, Blair McLaughlin says, "We just need a little food and beer and we are ready to go."

After a long day of riding comes all long night of partying.

Here are the events that are taking place this weekend:
Saturday: 8 am- 10:30 am- Breakfast at Civic Center
9 am- 6 pm- Bike Expo and rides
2 pm- Clunker Crit at Civic Center
6 pm- Live music (Charles King) at Civic Center. Festival party follows

Sunday: Rides all day. See the bulletin board at the beer tent
Noon- Fat Boy Crit
