Several law enforcement agencies are looking to better protect the identities of Grand Valley residents and from getting financially scammed.
Dozens of residents came out Tuesday night for a special seminar hosted by the Grand Junction Police Department, Mesa County Sheriff's Office and the FBI.
The focus? Avoiding Internet and mail scams, as well as protecting your identity.
Nationwide, more than $8 B in losses were recorded through scams in 2006 and it's becoming an increasing problem.
