City Manager Announces Leave Of Absence

Grand Junction’s city manager is taking a leave of absence to deal with health and family related matters.

City Manager David Varley’s leave of absence is effective immediately. Officials say Varley will likely be gone for at least thirty days.

Deputy City Manager Laurie Kadrich will serve as acting city manager while Varley is gone.

Varley has worked for the city since the early 90’s and served as interim city manger from June 2006 to December when he was appointed city manager.
