Mesa State To Study Socio-Economic Impact Of Energy Development

It's no longer just about the environmental impacts when it comes to energy development in Western Colorado. Students at Mesa State College will soon study the socio–economic impacts of all the energy activity happening here on the Western Slope, thanks to a large grant from the El Pomar Foundation.

The college announced Friday it received a grant for $35,000 to be used for a growth impact study of five western counties including Mesa and Garfield Counties. The results will hopefully help these areas plan for the future.

The study will be completed in early August.
